- Huawei announced that the company is selected by Canadian Internet service provider Manitoba NetSet to build a WiMAX network in rural areas of Manitoba, Canada, according to a July 13, 2011 press release by Huawei. As per the contract, the project is divided into two stages, and Huawei is expected to provide essential broadband Internet access to approximately 5,000 households within the first year.
